Occasionally there are “doctor” flies while fishing. THEY BITE! Repellant works—or wear long pants. There are mosquitos and no-seeums on land at dawn and dusk when the wind dies.
Yes! And remember to bring a back-up rod, gloves and stripping guards, a neck gaiter, sun lotion, and extra leader material. If you run out of flies, there are flies for sale at the Lodge. There are also T-shirts, fishing shirts and Tranquility Hill fishing hats available for purchase.

Andros has more fresh water than any other Bahamian island, yet we always drink bottled water at the Lodge. As a doctor friend of ours says, “Any time you change your water, your system can get upset. The Lodge provides soap in the bathrooms, but bring your own shampoo, sun lotion and skin cream.

Make sure your health insurance covers medical expenses outside of the U.S. Bring your health insurance card and all necessary prescription drugs with you.
